"Tsuki to Taiyou," our vacation rental in Atami, is a whole villa located in Atami Nature Village. It takes 45 minutes by Shinkansen from Tokyo to Atami Station, and 20 minutes by taxi or car from Atami Station to our property. To maintain the excitement of your journey as you head to the villa, it's important to plan ahead before your arrival. In this article, we will provide practical information for first-time visitors to our property, including how to choose between car, taxi, and bus, check-in locations, tips for using the bus, and reasons to shop before arriving.

We basically expect our guests to arrive by taxi or car. The 20-minute distance from Atami Station by taxi or car is an easy option for group trips with a lot of luggage, stays with small dogs, or self-catering trips where guests bring their own food and drinks. As you leave the bustling area in front of the station, the transition to the quiet atmosphere characteristic of Atami Nature Village marks the beginning of your stay in our vacation rental.

If you are coming by car, from the Tokyo area, take the Shuto Expressway and Tomei Expressway, and it takes about 1 hour from Atsugi IC. From the Osaka area, use the Shin-Tomei or Tomei Expressway, and it takes about 1 hour from Nagakubo Numazu IC. Check-in will be done at the Atami Nature Village Forest Cafe before entering each building directly. The address is 〒413-0101 Atami City, Kamitaga 1066-1. We will send you a pre-check-in email the day before or on the day of your stay, so it’s smooth if you keep it accessible during your travel.

If you're looking to keep costs down, there's the option of the Atami Natural Village Shuttle Bus operated by Tokai Bus. The route runs from Atami Station to the Atami Natural Village resort area, with 5 buses operating daily. The travel time is approximately 30 to 45 minutes, and the fare is 570 yen one way for adults. Payment can be made in cash or with a transportation IC card. The atmosphere inside the bus is similar to that of local buses running in Atami City, and once you take a seat, your small journey from the station to the resort area begins.

At Atami Station, there is one ticket gate, and it takes about 3 minutes on foot to the bus terminal in front of the station. Buses to Atami Shizenko depart from platform ⑥. As of July 2025, the departure times from Atami Station are 8:25, 10:40, 13:25, 15:00, and 17:10. The travel time to the rental villa is approximately 40 minutes. If you are paying in cash, please note that the on-board change machine only accepts 1,000 yen bills, so it's advisable to prepare coins or a transportation IC card.

When arriving by bus, the most important thing to pay attention to is the check-in process. At our inn, check-in is required at the management building's Angel Forest Cafe, but the bus will not wait until the process is complete. Therefore, if you head to the management office by bus, you will need to walk to your rented villa after checking in. The distances from Angel Forest Cafe are 350m to Tsuki to Taiyo HANABI, 550m to BASE ATAMI, 1km to EN ATAMI, and 1.8km to DREAM VILLA.

If the representative has already checked in, and you can head directly to the rental villa, make sure to know the nearest bus stops for each building. BASE ATAMI is at "Dai 2 Fujimidai," EN ATAMI is at "Oshimadai 4-ji," HANABI is at "Gendakaidai Entrance," and DREAM VILLA is at "Oshimadai 1-ji." Within Atami Nature Village, you can tell the driver "I'll get off here," and they will stop regardless of the bus stop, so it's also recommended to communicate while checking Google Maps. However, since the stopping order varies by bus, be sure to check the return timetable on-site.

The check-in location is Atami Nature Village Forest Cafe. Before heading to each rental villa, you will need to complete the check-in process, so if you are using a car or taxi, please set the Forest Cafe as your destination first. For buses, the nearest bus stop to Angel Forest Cafe is "In front of the Management Office." The next bus stop will be displayed on the electronic board next to the driver, so when you see "In front of the Management Office," start preparing to get off.

Another thing you must take care of before your arrival is shopping. There are no supermarkets in Atami Natural Village, and there are no convenience stores or supermarkets on our premises. Please complete your shopping for food and drinks before coming. A nearby store from Atami Station is Seijo Ishii on the first floor of Lasca Atami, located just outside the ticket gates. We only provide basic seasonings: salt, pepper, soy sauce, and olive oil, so gathering what you need in advance will make your cooking during your stay more comfortable.

Let's include the arrival time in our plans. Check-in is from 15:00 to 18:00, and check-out is at 11:00. If you take the bus departing at 15:00, you may check in after arriving at Atami Shizenko and then walk to your building. To avoid carrying food and drinks in the evening, we recommend considering the number of people, luggage, weather, and the representative's movements when choosing your mode of transportation.

Our location in Atami Nature Village is a resort area that includes not only our guests but also residents and villa owners. After arrival, simply completing check-in, moving in your luggage, and organizing your shopping will help you settle into your stay. To fully enjoy the private sauna, onsen (hot spring), and time on the terrace, it's important to plan your movements wisely to avoid exhaustion. Especially since DREAM VILLA is located on a hill, there are 67 steps to reach the entrance. Please be aware of this in advance.

By taxi or car, it's easy to reach our check-in location from Atami Station in 20 minutes, making it convenient for trips with food and drinks. If you take the bus, it costs 570 yen for adults one way, but consider the frequency, drop-off points, and walking distance after check-in when making your choice.
