IS IT SAFE TO BOOK HERE?
Booking with a site you've never heard of — is that safe?
It's a fair question. Here's the answer as how it actually works, rather than as a promise.
We are a licensed Japanese travel agency
P-HAM Co., Ltd. is registered with the Governor of Aichi Prefecture (No. 3-1590) and has lodged a security deposit under Japan's Travel Agency Act. Your booking is a travel contract under Japanese law, not just a confirmation email.
Your booking goes straight into the hotel's own system
We never resell inventory bought from someone else. The moment you book, the reservation appears in that hotel's own system — there is no gap in between where a booking can quietly go missing.
We never hold your card details
Payments are handled by PAY.JP, a licensed Japanese payment provider. Your card number is never stored on our servers.

Send us your questions and requests, and we'll confirm them with the hotel in Japanese and come back to you. Nothing has to get lost between languages on your side.

We grow one hotel at a time, and we meet every one of them.
We are a small team, and we are early. You won't find as many properties here as on the biggest booking sites.
What you will find is that we hold a direct contract with every one of them, and that each page was checked and approved by the hotel itself before it went live. Whichever one you choose, you are in good hands.
Direct contracts only
We list only hotels we hold a direct contract with. There is no middleman and no resale layer between you and the property.
Checked and approved by the hotel
Rooms, meals, facilities, directions — the hotel itself reviews and approves its page before it is published. Nothing here is copied across from another site.
Onsen and tattoo policies stated
Bathing facilities and each hotel's tattoo policy are written on its page, as confirmed by the hotel — so there are no surprises at the door.
More hotels are joining us. The way we add them will not change.

Hello — I'm Mitsutaka Hoshihara. I live in the UK, and in the sauna community here I kept meeting people planning a trip to Japan. The interest was far greater than I had imagined.
Most of them were looking for somewhere to stay on the big international booking sites. A few photographs cannot carry the feeling of a Japanese inn. And when I went home and showed friends around, we couldn't find onsen etiquette, tattoo rules, or directions to the countryside in English — so the trip stayed in the famous cities.
So I decided to bring it all into one place: the character of each inn, the language barrier, how to reach the countryside, how bathing works. I founded P-HAM in Nagoya, registered as a travel agency, and after a long time it has finally taken shape. This is only the beginning.

Whether there is a communal bath or a private one, and whether tattoos are welcome, is written on each hotel's page — so nothing catches you out on arrival.
