The Meitetsu Line is the only train directly connected to Chubu Centrair International Airport.
The Meitetsu Line has a direct airport express, the μSky Limited Express, which requires an additional First Class Ticket (μ Ticket) costing 450 yen.
When travelling from Meitetsu Nagoya Station to Chubu Centrair International Airport, only trains marked as bound for the "Central Japan International Airport" go the airport.

There Are Two Terminals
Chubu Centrair International Airport has two terminals: Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The train station is located on the Terminal 1 side. However, there is a dedicated walkway connecting Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, and it takes about 10 minutes to walk between them.
Staying at an Airport Hotel for Early Morning Flights
If you have an early-morning flight, staying at an airport hotel is recommended. When I use Chubu Centrair International Airport, I often stay at the capsule hotel "Tube Square", which is directly connected to the airport. It's very affordable and offers a clean, comfortable space.
If you want a more spacious room, the Centrair Hotel is also directly connected to the terminal and very convenient.

The Only Train Directly Connected to the Airport
The Meitetsu Line is the only train line which directly serves Chubu Centrair International Airport (NGO). It provides direct access to Nagoya City, where you can transfer to JR lines at Nagoya Station or Kanayama Station to reach a wider area.
There Are Two Main Types of Trains on the Meitetsu Line
The Meitetsu Line has two main types of trains: the μSky Limited Express and other regular express trains.
μSky Limited Express
The μSky Limited Express is a special express train designed for airport users. It boasts the fastest travel time from Chubu Centrair International Airport to Nagoya City. It features generous luggage space and comfortable seats with ample legroom. All seats must be reserved, and a special First Class Ticket (μ Ticket, JPY 450) is required. The way to purchase the First Class Ticket will be explained later.
The μSky Limited Express travels directly from the airport to Meitetsu Nagoya Station from where you can transfer to JR lines or the subway.

Meitetsu Limited Express
In addition to the μSky Limited Express, there are Rapid Limited Express and Limited Express trains. These trains have both reserved and non-reserved seats. They make more stops than the μSky Limited Express and their journey time is slightly longer.

How to Purchase Meitetsu Train Tickets
Here’s how to purchase tickets for the Meitetsu Line. For the following trains, in addition to the regular ticket, a First Class Ticket (μ Ticket, JPY 450) is required:

- Rapid Limited Express and Limited Express (First Class Coach)
Regular Tickets

How to Purchase a First Class Ticket (μ Ticket)
To take the μSky Limited Express or the First Class Coach of the Rapid Limited Express, you need to purchase a First Class Ticket (μ Ticket, JPY 450) in addition to the regular ticket. The ticket can be bought online or at ticket vending machines.
The μSky Limited Express has only First Class Coaches, so a First Class Ticket (μ Ticket) is always required. Other trains have both ordinary and first class coaches. The First Class Ticket is only required if you choose to take the First Class Coach.

You can reserve seats online on the Meitetsu Railway website. Select your seat during the purchase process.

Purchasing First Class Tickets from Ticket Vending Machines
Follow these steps to purchase from the ticket vending machines at the airport. Select your destination, choose the μSky Limited Express, and then select the reserved seat option. Note that payment is only possible in cash. If you do not purchase in advance, an additional fee of JPY 500 will be charged when paying onboard.
- Select your language (English is available).
- Choose your destination station (Meitetsu Nagoya Station).
- Select the train type (μSky Limited Express).
- Choose the reserved seat option.

JR Rail Pass is Not Valid on the Meitetsu Airport Line
The JR Rail Pass, which allows unlimited travel on JR trains, cannot be used on either the Meitetsu Line or the Nagoya Municipal Subway. Separate tickets need to be purchased or you can use an IC card.
Transferring from Meitetsu Nagoya Station to JR Nagoya Station
When transferring from Meitetsu Nagoya Station to JR Nagoya Station, you need to exit the station and walk. The two stations are close to each other but are not directly connected. Follow the station signs to find your way. Below is a photo of the signs for reference.
Important Points for Travelling from Meitetsu Nagoya Station to Chubu Centrair International Airport
When traveling from Meitetsu Nagoya Station to Chubu Centrair International Airport, please note the following:
- Use Platform 4 and board the train bound for Chubu Centrair International Airport.
- Trains not bound for Chubu Centrair International Airport will not take you to the airport.
- Other trains also depart from Platform 4, so make sure to check the destination.
Child Fares on Meitetsu Trains
One adult fare-paying passenger can bring up to two children under the age of six for free. Children under the age of one can ride for free. Additionally, child tickets, which are half the adult fare, are available for children under twelve.

Sakae Station
Take the Meitetsu Line to Meitetsu Nagoya Station. Transfer to the Nagoya Municipal Subway Higashiyama Line and head to Sakae Station. The Nagoya Municipal Subway accepts IC cards like Suica for easy access.
