Kaido Roman On-yado Tsutaya is a long-established ryokan founded in 1688 (the first year of the Genroku era) as an inn of Fukushima-juku, a post town on the Nakasendo's Kiso Road. Still standing on the same riverside site along the Kiso River, it welcomes guests with open-air baths and creative Japanese cuisine made from local ingredients.
